Santorini is more than just the white washed buildings and blue domes. It is home to some pretty incredible and unique beaches. Santorini is a great place to visit and the beautiful beaches are just one of the many reasons.
Kamari Beach

Kamari Beach is one of the most popular beaches in Santorini and unlike anything you’ve ever seen. This beach is one of the many black volcanic sand beaches here in Santorini. There are tons of beach bars, restaurants and shops in this area that you can stop at. The beach bars also rent out sunbeds and umbrellas for a fee.
This beach is easily accessible by public transportation but make sure you dry off before getting back on the bus as the driver may refuse you entrance. The bus is also very cheap so it is a great way to get to the beach.
Perissa Beach
Perissa Beach is another unique black volcanic sand beach that stretches quite far. This is another popular beach so it can get pretty busy. There is sunbeds and umbrellas to rent here as well or you can set up a spot on the sand but as the day gets warmer so will the sand. There is a ton of hotels around the area so this is a great beach option if you’re staying at one of the nearby hotels.
Red Beach

Red Beach is another beach unlike anything you’ve ever seen. It is surrounded by red cliffs with red volcanic sand. There is a parking lot atop the cliffs that you can park at and walk down to the beach. You can also access this beach from the water on one of the many boat tours you can take in Santorini. There are some restaurants in the area but nothing close enough to the beach so if you plan on spending most the day here, I would bring a picnic.
White Beach

White Beach is only accessible by boat or by hiking from Red Beach. This beach is known for its dark pebbles and towering cliffs. Despite it being difficult to get to there is a beach bar and sunbeds and umbrellas to rent here.
Agios Georgios Beach
If you decide to head out to the village of Perivolos then a stop at Agios Georgios Beach is a must. This beach is also a great option for anyone looking for a less crowded spot. The beach is surrounded by rock formations and cliffs, which make for a stunning backdrop. There are some beach bars and taverns around that you can enjoy food and drinks at.
Monolithos Beach
Monolithos Beach is a great beach for families with children as it is known for its shallow water and soft sand. There are beach bars and taverns around if you don’t want to bring food with you. The beach is also equipped with showers and changing facilities, which most beaches aren’t. You can also rent sunbeds and umbrellas here for about 15 euros.
