Last Updated on January 2, 2026 by Samantha

As one of the most popular tourist towns in Canda, there is no shortage of incredible restaurants. With all the different options, you will surely find something for everyone to enjoy. There’s a good mix of casual to fine dining and local to international cuisine. I can’t wait to go back because there are still so many places that I wasn’t able to try that looked incredible.

With so many outdoor activities in Banff, you’ll always be hungry for your next meal. This is the only Banff restaurant guide you’ll need to plan your next visit.

The Grizzly House

The Grizzly House is definitely one of Banff’s best restaurants and that is because it is famous for its fondue. You can choose from a selection of meats and veggies, which you can cook tableside before dipping it in the delicious cheese. If you aren’t feeling like fondue, they do have many other tasty options on their menu.

LUPO Italian Restaurante

LUPO is an incredible authentic Italian restaurant that captures the vibrancy of a traditional Italian marketplace. If you are here in a group, I recommend ordering several dishes and eating family style. It is also home to the biggest tiramisu I’ve ever seen and boy was it delicious! In the summer, you can also enjoy their outdoor patio. I strongly recommend making a reservation if you plan on eating here.

The Balkan Mediterranean Restaurant

The Balkan is the perfect place to stop at for an authentic Greek meal right in downtown Banff. All of the dishes are made with fresh ingredients and are a good portion size. If you are there in a group, I recommend trying the Ultimate Greek Feast, which has all your favourite Greek options to try.

Head here on a Thursday, Friday or Sunday and you’ll also get to enjoy live entertainment featuring belly dancing, plate smashing and Greek dancing. If you are planning to go on one of these nights I do recommend making a reservation.

Magpie & Stump Mexican Restaurant

Magpie & Stump is one of Banff’s oldest restaurants and offers authentic Mexican cuisine. In the summer, you can enjoy their rooftop open-air patio while sipping margaritas. This is a great spot to stop for lunch or to enjoy happy hour after a day of hiking.

Bear Street Tavern

If you are looking for the best spot to grab pizza in Banff then Bear Street Tavern is definitely it. If you aren’t feeling pizza there is many other great options on the menu but the pizza is what stands out. This is also a great spot to grab take out from if you’re just looking to stay in and relax in the evening.

The Eddie Burger + Bar

If you are craving a good burger, this is definitely the place to go! The location isn’t very big but the menu has some incredible specialty burgers you must try. It isn’t a fancy restaurant but the burgers are incredible. This will also be your chance to try different meats like bison or elk if you’re up for trying something different.

Farm & Fire

Farm & Fire is known for its delicious food made with fresh locally sourced ingredients and prepared in a wood-fire craft kitchen. Their menu changes for the most part each season depending on what they are able to get but there is always a few reoccurring staples on the menu.

The Bison Restaurant

If you are looking for something unique to try then I definitely recommend checking out this restaurant. They have been named one of the top fine dining restaurants in Canada and follows a farm-to-table approach with a rotating seasonal menu. There are tons of great options on the menu but how do you come to a restaurant like this and not try the bison!

Masala Authentic Indian Cuisine

If you are looking for a good authentic Indian restaurant while you are in Banff then I definitely recommend checking out Masala. Every dish is so fresh and full of flavour. You definitely won’t be disappointed by Masala.

Ramen Arashi

You truly can’t go wrong with a good ramen restaurant and this one is simply the best. There is a small selection or ramen and appetizers. The ramen bowls range from garlic to Shoyo to Tan Tan to Devil’s spicy. If you are a spice lover, you can choose the level of spice for your bowl. This is a great stop for lunch or dinner especially in the colder months. Everything is reasonably priced and definitely worth it.
