Christmas is the most magical time of the year and this year, Ottawa is going all out. There are tons of great activities for you and the family to enjoy so here is a list of some of my favourites!
Christmas Market
When: Every Friday – Sunday from November 22, 2024 – January 5, 2025
Location: Casino Lac-Leamy Plaza at Landsdowne – 1525 Princess Patricia Way
Price: Free
This European-style Christmas market is set up at the Casino Lac-Leamy Plaza with tons of local handmade crafts and baked goods and is a must see! After checking out all the different shops, grab some hot chocolate or a glass of wine and keep warm by one of the many fireplaces there.
Magic of Lights
When: November 22, 2024 – January 4, 2025 5:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. until December 5 and 5:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. after December 5
Location: Wesley Clover Parks – 411 Corkstown Road
Price: $27.14 per standard-sized vehicle
Magic of Lights is a drive through holiday light experience featuring some of your favourite holiday scenes and characters.
Every ticket sold benefits CHEO (Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario).
Elf’s Pub
When: Starts November 26, 2024
Location: Chateau Laurier – 1 Rideau Street
Grab some friends and head to the Chateau Laurier to enjoy a festive drink or two at their Christmas speakeasy.
Taffy Lane
Taffy Lane is well known in Orleans for its impressive Christmas light displays as it is one of the best in the city!
HoliYay Craft Market
When: November 17, 2024 11:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
Location: National Art Centre
Price: Free
Whether you’ve already begun your Christmas shopping and are seeking the perfect gift for a loved one or just looking to get in to the festive spirit head over to the NAC for the 6th annual holiday market.
Holiday Market at the Parkdale Public Market
When: November 23, 2024 12:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.
Location: Parkdale Public Market – 366 Parkdale Avenue
Price: Free
For one day only you can head to the Parkdale Public Market to grab your Canadian-grown tree, hand-made decor or shop the 30+ vendors for the perfect gift. You can also enjoy some winter treats while listening to the carolers singing festive tunes.
